2024 Annual Report
Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages
The table below indicates 64% (42) of the counties showed worker growth from 2023 to 2024. The highest percentage gains occurred in Day, Hamlin, and Faulk counties. The largest absolute gains emerged in Minnehaha, Lincoln, and Pennington counties.
Decreases in the number of covered workers occurred in 33% (22) of the counties in South Dakota. The greatest percentage decreases occurred in Clark, Marshall, and Miner counties, and the largest absolute losses happened in Union, Oglala Lakota, and Marshall counties. Beadle and Sanborn counties remained unchanged.
