Barber Reciprocity Application

Verification of All Past/Present Licensure - If you are applying for reciprocity, you will need to contact the state where you are currently licensed as a barber to request they send our office a certification of your barber license from that state. Please note a photocopy of your license is NOT a license certification. You must request the certification from the other state board office and they will send directly to our office by email or mail to: SD Board of Barber Examiners, 217 W. Missouri, Pierre, SD 57501, or by FAX: 605.773.7175

New Barbershop Inspections

New barbershops are inspected on the first and third Wednesday of each month, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Central Time. Please plan to be available between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Central Time on the Wednesday you are scheduled for inspection.
