The following Consumer Price Index (CPI) data are available:

CPI for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) - Available for both the United States and the Midwest Region (including South Dakota)

CPI for Urban Wage Earners & Clerical Workers (CPI-W) - Available for the United States only

Impact of 2025 federal government shutdown

October 2025 CPI data are not be available because of the suspension of data collection during the temporary federal government shutdown. The virtual system displays "N/A" (Not Available) for the missing data. Percent change involving October 2025 data is displayed as 0.0%.
