DLR: giving the gift of education
The South Dakota Department of Labor and Regulation (DLR) offers a plethora of gifts to individuals in the way of workforce services. But this time of year when meaningful giving is at the forefront of our minds, we want to shine the spotlight on our giving to individuals seeking their GED®. Participants Reaching Employment Potential (PREP) offers participants the gift of an education.
PREP is a service delivery model that packages financial supports, paid work-based learning opportunities, and a support network. This protective bubble provides the resources allowing participants to reach their education and employment goals. DLR wants to ensure the participant is connected with services to remove barriers and increase opportunities for success. A GED® can improve employability, increase advancement opportunities, and offer a higher wage.
The gift of education is a gift that never goes out of style or breaks. The gift of education broadens horizons, enriches life, and lasts a lifetime!
PREP is a gift for South Dakota employers challenged with staffing issues as well, helping increase the pool of educated, prepared job applicants.
