Continuing Education

All applications to provide continuing education in South Dakota must now be submitted through our new online portal by selecting Education Provider Portal. You will need to create a MySD login in order to access this page.

See our Laws and Rules page for related South Dakota Administrative Rules.

Applications

If you are interested in presenting a continuing education course, use the Education Provider Portal in the online portal. Please review this guide before submitting an application.

Continuing Education Requirements

Licensees are required to obtain 16 hours of continuing education by the time of renewal or by June 30, whichever is sooner. A minimum of eight hours is required to be on the National Electric Code. In addition, only eight hours are allowed to be pre-approved correspondence or interactive online courses. Licensees are required to upload the certificate of completion in the portal to track their CE hours for the next renewal.
