Managed Care Contractor (MCC)
A Managed Care Contractor (MCC) is an entity that establishes, operates or maintains a network of participating providers which is often called a preferred provider organization or PPO. An MCC may also contract with insurance companies, employers or other organizations to operate a managed care plan.
MCCs are required to register with the Division of Insurance prior to conducting business in South Dakota.
