Notice of Public Hearing to Adopt Rules

A public hearing will be held in Oahe Conference Room, 124 South Euclid Avenue, 1st Floor, Pierre, SD 57501 on September 30, 2024, at 9:00 A.M. (CDT) to consider the adoption and amendment of proposed rules to the following:

Chapter 20:06:10:30, 20:06:18:05.01, 20:06:21:74, and 20:06:21:74.01

The effect of amending these rules is to update a reference guide, modernize a continuing education course attendance roster, and clarify the timeframe of when a producer must take a continuing education course for long term care plans.

The reasons for these rule changes are to clean-up these sections for overall improved clarity.

Persons interested in presenting amendments, data, opinions, and arguments for or against the proposed rules may appear in-person at the hearing, or mail or e-mail the materials to the South Dakota Division of Insurance, 124 South Euclid Avenue, 2nd Floor, Pierre, South Dakota 57501 or to lisa.harmon@state.sd.us or insurance@state.sd.us (Subject Line: Proposed Administrative Rules). The deadline to submit any such written comments for consideration by Division is October 10, 2024, and materials sent by mail must reach the Division by the comment deadline to be considered.

After the public hearing and written comment period, the Division of Insurance will consider all written and oral comments it receives on the proposed rules.  The Division may modify or amend a proposed rule at that time to include or exclude matters that are described in this notice.
