A new virtual labor market data system for retrieving data is now available. It looks much different than what you were used to, but has even greater functionality--such as the ability to view or export graphs and maps of the data you select. Follow the tips below to find the data you have used this website to find in the past. If you need assistance with this new system, please contact us; we will be happy to help.

Alternately, you may follow our instructions to access QCEW data from the opening screen of the LMI virtual LMI data system.
Please note, at any point while using the virtual labor market data system, to clear all prior selections, click on the "Labor Market Analysis" link in the upper left-hand corner of the screen.
Follow the steps below to retrieve data for the area(s) of interest. Additionally, click on the Time Period currently displayed as needed to change it, then from the drop-down menu for Period Type, choose Annual or Quarterly data as you prefer. From the subsequent drop-down menu, you may choose the specific year(s) or quarter(s) of interest, holding down the control key as needed to make multiple selections. You may also click on the Industry currently displayed as needed to change it. Then from the screen that comes up, you may choose to select industries by keyword search, from a list of North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) industry sectors, an alphabetical industry listing, by entering a NAICS code, or by looking at a listing of industries by level (super sectors, sectors, etc.).
Statewide - Under Search Options, if "South Dakota" is not already selected as the area, click on it to change it. Then from the Area Type drop-down menu, choose "State."
County - Under Search Options, click on the area currently displayed as needed to change it. Then from the Area Type drop-down menu, choose "County." From the susequent drop-down menu, you may choose the specific county(ies) of interest, holding down the control key as needed to make multiple selections. OR, under Search Options, you may choose to Select by Map, or to Select All Areas. (Please note, the system may react slowly when selecting all areas, and some computers may time out before the data has been successfull retrieved, especially if you have selected multiple time frames as well.
Metropolitan Statistical Area - Under Search Options, click on the area currently displayed as needed to change it. Then from the Area Type drop-down menu, choose Metropolitcan Statistical Area (2013). From the subsequent drop-down menu, you may choose the MSA(s) of interest, holding down the control key as needed to select both MSAs. Or, you may click on the "Select All" link below the drop-down menu to select both MSAs.
