Notice of Public Hearing to Adopt Rules

A public hearing will be held in Main Floor Conference Room, Anderson Building, 445 East Capitol Ave, Pierre, South Dakota, on July 21st, 2014 at 2 p.m., to consider the adoption and amendment of proposed rules to the following: See the Rules Text ( in Adobe .pdf format*).

The effect of this rule change is to update the sources referenced in rule.
The reason for adopting this rule is to ensure all parties are referring to the updated references.
The effect of this rule change is to update an appendix located within the rule.
The reason for adopting this rule is to be consistent with the National Association of Insurance Commissioners' Model Act.
The effect of this rule change is to clarify the definition of an eligible association.
The reason for adopting this rule is to make clear that associations must be filed and approved by the director.
After the hearing, the Division of Insurance will consider all written and oral comments it receives on the proposed rules. The Division may modify or amend a proposed rule at that time to include or exclude matters that are described in this notice.
Notice is further given to individuals with disabilities that this hearing is being held in a physically accessible place.
