The South Dakota Department of Labor Employee Retirement Board was created by Chapter 386, Laws of 1987, "An Act to establish a board to administer the retirement program for certain employees of the department of labor," and as provided by SDCL 61-2-15 "in accordance with the formal plan for those employed prior to July 1980." The goal of the Board is "To do anything and everything constituting the administration of the retirement program."
