Federal Regulations

Regulations of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System

The Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve regulates state chartered banks who are members of the Federal Reserve System.

Laws and Regulations Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC)

The FDIC regulates all state chartered institutions which are not members of the Federal Reserve System.

Laws and Regulations of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC)

The OCC regulates all nationally chartered institutions. These institutions generally contain the words federal or national in their names, or the letters "N.A." are often located at the end of the institution's name. This also includes federal savings and loan associations, and federal savings banks.

Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB)

The CFPB a newly established Federal agency charged with making markets for consumer financial products and services work for Americans by promoting transparency and consumer choice, and preventing abusive and deceptive financial practices.
