![]() Still Time to Partner with Us for Week of Work What do you wish you knew about your job when you were 15? Join us for South Dakota Week of Work, April 11-15, to offer your expertise and engage with current South Dakota students (AKA your potential future workforce). Participate virtually in the 2022 Week of Work in two ways: Share your Knowledge as a Virtual Panelist during the Week of Work. Businesses will be grouped, three per panel. These moderator-led panels are about 40-minutes. Panelist slots are available April 12-14 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. (CDT) via Zoom. Register to be a panelist. Create short videos about your business's occupation(s). These 3-minute or less videos should focus on one occupation each. View full video guidelines and submission instructions. Submission deadline is Monday, March 14. Videos will be uploaded to YouTube and the Week of Work website for students to learn about career options in South Dakota. ![]() Free Interactive Trainings on Web Accessibility and Disability Etiquette in March and April Do you want to make sure your business website complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessibility guidelines? Does your staff know how to interact with individuals who have disabilities? Or how to engage with someone who has a service dog? The Rocky Mountain ADA Center offers virtual, interactive training that focus on businesses' responsibilities with complying with the Americans with Disabilities (ADA) accessibility guidelines for their websites and best practices on disability etiquette for customer service professionals. Registration is required. Web Accessibility Training for Businesses: Tuesday, March 22 at 10 a.m. (CDT)/9 a.m. (MDT). The deadline to register is March 14. Disability Etiquette for Customer Services Professionals: Tuesday, April 12 at 10 a.m. (CDT)/9 a.m. (MDT). The deadline to register is April 4. The SD Division of Rehabilitation Services, the SD Retailers Association, the Sioux Falls Business Resource Network, and the Workforce Diversity Network are co-sponsoring two upcoming training events.

Be Nationally Recognized with the HIREVets Medallion Award The U.S. Department of Labor is now accepting applications for the 2022 HIRE Vets Medallion Award, presented annually to employers who demonstrate a commitment to recruiting, employing, and retaining America’s military veterans. The award is the only federal-level veterans’ employment that honors businesses and nonprofits promoting employment, support, professional development, and retention of veterans. The award signals to veterans that an employer is committed to and supports our nation’s heroes. In 2021, Rapid City employers Black Hills Energy and Coca-Cola Bottling High Country received this recognition. For more information, please visit HIREVets.gov. The application deadline is April 30. Our network of Job Service offices provides a wide range of employer recruitment and hiring services, including job order writing, job fairs, and office space to conduct interviews, information sessions or other hiring events. We can also meet virtually via Microsoft Teams. DLR also offers a wide range of workforce training programs. DLR can identify and develop training based on the business need. These programs may reduce training costs, improve retention rates and increase the skills of your workforce.
