Professional Development

The Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) program places significant emphasis on professional development to enable each adult education staff member to meet the needs of their students.

We recommend that each staff member develop a professional development plan. New-teacher training is available for ABE, ASE and ESL full- and part-time teachers.

Download the New Teacher Training Manual (in Adobe .pdf format*).

Credit and CEU Courses

Most professional development programs offered by SDALL offer undergraduate and graduate credit (or CEU) for teachers.

Local program funds may be used to support such courses with prior approval by the local program director.
