Borszich Appointed to Workforce Development Council
PIERRE, S.D. -- Gov. Dennis Daugaard has appointed Jim Borszich of Huron as a new member of the Department of Labor and Regulation's Workforce Development Council. Borszich is the president and chief executive officer for the Greater Huron Development Corporation.
Borszich has more than 24 years in the banking industry, owned his own business for more than 10 years and is a former city commissioner. He is experienced in commercial finance, lending and economic development.
"Jim brings many years of knowledge and experience to the council, and we look forward to hearing his views on workforce issues," said state Labor and Regulation Interim Secretary Marcia Hultman.
Gov. Daugaard has reappointed Chairman Warren Lotsberg and member Cal Geis.
The Workforce Development Council was formed in 1994 to plan and evaluate job training and education programs in South Dakota and to advise the Governor on workforce issues. Members represent various business, labor and education interests. Members include:
Council membership also includes the state departments of Labor and Regulation, Human Services, and Education; the Governor's Office of Economic Development; and the Board of Regents.
