Home Inventory

Natural disasters can strike any where at any time. That is why it is important to have a room-by-room inventory of your home. A home inventory — along with photos and proof of ownership — will make it easier to fill an accurate, detailed insurance claim in case your home is damaged or destroyed in a disaster.

A Home Inventory Checklist (in Adobe .pdf format*) provided by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) may be helpful in completing an inventory of your home.

Store your home inventory and related documents in a safe, easily accessible place online, on your computer or in a fire-proof box or safe deposit box. Consider sharing a copy with friends, relatives and your insurance provider.
