Licensee Inquiry Definitions
Temporary License - license issued to a person who meets the basic requirements and is scheduled to take the South Dakota Boards. The temporary license is valid only until the test results are received.
Salon or Booth Permit - authorizes a person to open and conduct a salon or booth only at a specific location. The permit is valid for 90 days until the first inspection is passed. After the passed inspection, a regular license is issued which is renewed annually.
Reciprocity License - license issued to a person who holds a current license from another state. Reciprocity is valid for approximately three months until the required examination results are received by the licensee.
